Hey guys, you don't need to have a good accent to communicate with international people. English is somehow like my mother tongue, and I was speaking with a nice accent until three years ago. One day, one of my friends still living in the States told me to stop this because he says that "whatever accent you use, people will and should eventually learn that you are Turkish. Focus on communicating the correct message, and you can freely speak in your own tone. Just be careful about some basics, such as not saying "bikauz" instead of "bikoz" or "hovevır" instead of "havevır" etc. You should listen to English before speaking it.

In short, my advice as an experienced translator with lots of international experience is to learn English very well, learn as many words as possible, watch tv shows or movies in English with English subtitles, and not be obsessive about accents. Take it easy. I celebrate you bairam.
