    Hey there,

Lots to discuss so let's jump right in.

Go to almost any forum about search engine marketing
and sooner or later you’ll see this question!

“Google’s not indexing my website! Why not?”

I wonder why this is too, when my sites get indexed by Google
    so quickly and easily.

The site I’ve mentioned working like a dog on, while not ‘all in’
as far as Google is concerned, is in enough that I won’t be
checking it too often from here on out. I’ll use Adsense
revenue as my yardstick. As at this point a few bucks are
    dribbling in each day.

Regardless it should really do well as a Fall and Winter site. So
    I can hardly wait.

Anyway to see the pages indexed is Google I type in

    ‘site:www.domain-name.com’

into the search box, using whatever the domain-name is.

This in turn will return how many pages have been indexed by
Google. Not earth shattering but still pretty nifty huh?

Yet contrary to what we might like to believe, page indexing
is not a process that happens overnight.

I started linking to this site about the 20th of April from sites
    of mine already in Google.

About a week later the home page showed up when I did
    site:www.domain-name.com

For the next seven days that’s all that showed when I checked.

    This is perfectly normal.

Then on May 04, I found there were 28 pages.

    Alright. Progress.

The next day brought even more progress. 82 pages were
    returned by the Google command.

Three days later I was up to 100.

Next day, the 9th of May, it hit 112 pages. Just realize I’m
adding pages every day. At this point there were around
    140 pages to be had.

It stayed stuck on 112 for four days. Then it jumped again to
144 pages. Yet there were still more pages I had just added
that didn’t show in the tally.

Also notice at no time did I not see ‘No Pages Found’ when I
    entered the command.

Of course being in Google and ranking well in Google are two
different things. The rankings are coming, but again this is
not something I watch like a hawk. I will watch the Adsense
revenue and use that as my gauge. Yet I suspect this niche is
more that a bit seasonal. At least that’s what the tool says
in the report I gave away last time suggests.

My content is all unique…no software generated crap. I
doublecheck it in copyscape.com to make sure. (Which is
especially good to do when you are rewriting content like
I am for some sites that have dashed domains. The kind
Google frowns on at this point.)

I’ll continue to add content and wait for the next PR update
when this site should be a PR 4 or at worst PR 3.

At that point I’ll start to pursue some links. I find it’s much
easier to do my link begging when I’ve got at least token PR
    to offer in return.

I did a bit of checking. Seems I already have a bunch of top
20 with a smattering of top 10 rankings for this site in
    Google

But hold on a second. This isn’t supposed to work like this.

There’s the Google Sandbox which in essence says there’s a
filter that prevents new sites from showing up in the rankings
any time soon and this site has only been indexed since April
    27th!

The sandbox issue has gotten lots of play. A search for the
    term in Google turned up:

Results 1 - 10 of about 272,000 for "google sandbox".

If need be there are lots of sources on the topic you can use
to get up to speed on this.

    Now...

Either I’m a genius. (I’m not.) Or there are a lot of people
who don’t know how to set up their site so it’s trusted by
Google. (There are.) ‘Cause seems to me if you build quality
sites you can beat the sandbox.

Hmmmmmm. Or maybe the sandbox doesn’t really exist?

Anyway, this means I’ve got to get into the swing of the next
site. But you know what? I don’t want to.

That’s right. Don’t know about you but I really hate getting
    into a new site.

I like creating pages for this one and the one before it. Even
though I’ve creamed the best keywords and am hard at work
on second tier opportunities. But there are still plenty of such
    opportunities.

Anyway next time we’ll talk about the process I go thru when
starting to develop a new site. Going over some of the things
    I do and why.

Or I may go into how to have your competitor's do all your
    initial keyword research for you!

Or I’ve just found a couple of really nifty keyword tools.
And you can’t ever have too many of them.

Got Questions? Talk to me. Obviously I can’t respond to all
your inquiries individually, but if you have any questions,
problems, or issues you want me to address in SEO Talking
Points, let me know. Here’s the email

    talktojohn@traffic-test-tube.com

In any case there has not been an easier time to make money
    online with niche sites.

Of course once you get your sites up you need to get traf'fic.
Which is where my eBook, "Get Traf'fic FAST!", comes in.

    http://www.traffic-test-tube.com/get_traffic_fast.shtml

Well actually it could come in handy before that. Especially
if like most, you have no idea how to do keyword research to
find the fuel you need to bring in the visitors in droves.

But it doesn't stop there. It offers 8 solids lessons that
I'm sure will help you rank better and drive more traf'fic to
    your site.
