Lignite coal has relatively low calorific value, but high ash and moisture content. As lignite reserves on the earth are abundant, it is commonly utilised as raw material for power generation. This paper gathered the publications on rehabilitation works in lignite-fired power plants. For instance, B unit of Tuncbilek power plant was investigated on site. In line with the data acquired from this investigation, the cost analysis of upgrading the existing pulverized boiler to fluidized bed boiler was made.
