What are "usage statistics"?

"Usage statistics" refers to information automatically sent to Google to help us figure out how well the Google Toolbar is working and to help us improve the Toolbar in future versions.

For the Toolbar for Internet Explorer, this includes technical information such as whether or not the Toolbar installed successfully, the Toolbar's reliability, and the frequency with which Toolbar features are used. These statistics do not include information such as your name, email address, or the URLs of pages you visit. Google collects this data in aggregate and uses it consistent with our Privacy Policy to improve our products and services.

During the installation process, we give you the option to help us improve the Toolbar by sending usage statistics. If you elect to send this information but later change your mind, you can disable this feature from the Google Toolbar's Options menu.
