1 : Okay just ask them why this gives error (include full path with phpThumb) and tell them why this is so. And why it works if you used a relative directory instead of full http path.

2) Well, why would this be?

xxx

works fine, so there's no problems querying that location.

There's also

xxx

which works okay and is the format your images take, I turned off the organise uploads above just to test.

So surely there's some problem with the way the php file is asking for the thumbnail or how it interprets the information, no?

Or maybe I'm just doing it all wrong.

How have you got an thumbnail on the homepage for this article "mywordpressdesign.com/max/world/americas/consumers-cut-back-sharply-on-spending/" when there's no image in the article itself?

I've tried disabling the mod_security

<IfModule mod_security.c>
SecFilterEngine Off
SecFilterScanPOST Off
</IfModule>

I've played with my Settings -> Miscellaneous, specifying full URL and turning off organise uploads into month/year folders.

The default folder is wp-content/uploads.

I've also changed the default Thumbnail Size to 75x75 and Medium to 330x250 (will this fit in the features box okay?)

3)

Believe me, it is a host issue. I can list tons of blogs that got it to work straight away without any complicated stuff like that. You can query http:// address wit php script almost in any host. So i do not know what is going on, but certainly nothing should interrupt the thumb script.
